Defying Fate: The Unstoppable Eileen novel Chapter 359

The plane soared gracefully through the fluffy white clouds.

A flight attendant maneuvered a trolley down the aisle, maintaining the serene ambiance in the cabin.

Egbert, having just sent a quick text, glanced up to find the girl beside him, Eileen, staring out the window, lost in thought for quite some time.

Gently, he reached out, covering her hand with his warm palm.

Startled, Eileen snapped back to reality. She turned to Egbert, blinking, “What’s up?”

Brushing a stray hair off her cheek, Egbert gazed into her eyes and asked, “What’s on your mind?”

Eileen hesitated for a moment before pulling out her phone and showing Egbert a screen.

Egbert took a look and was immediately puzzled, “Tracking software?”

Eileen explained, “I tried to trace a phone number, but after I sent the encryption program, it bounced back in less than three seconds!”

She tapped the screen a couple of times.

Suddenly, the screen, which had been filled with lines of code, displayed an animation!

A pixelated cartoon cherub appeared, blowing kisses at the screen! It was utterly adorable and whimsical.

After a few kisses, a message popped up above the cherub’s head:

— “Can’t catch me, can’t catch me, you’ll never catch me!”

Egbert sighed, “…”

Taking the phone, he punched in a few keys, returning to the program interface. Egbert began trying to crack it.

But a few minutes later, the cherub reappeared!

This time it was dancing, and the message was different:

— “What’s happiness? It’s this happy planet, hey!”

Egbert sighed again, “…”

Handing the phone back to Eileen, he asked, “Who are you trying to trace?”

Eileen hesitated, her eyes darting, “Just… a prank call. I wanted to trace their server and report them, you know, for justice!”

Egbert gave her a knowing look, sensing she wasn't entirely honest. He said, “Their counter-tracing tech is advanced, and the signal’s too weak. Using direct tracking software can easily backfire.”

Eileen nodded, feeling dejected, “I’ll try again later.”

Egbert copied the program onto his own phone before returning hers, “I’ll let you know if I find anything.”

Eileen was taken aback, but then smiled, “Just don’t tell anyone, okay?”

Egbert gave her a sideways glance, resignedly agreeing, “Alright.”

A few hours later, they arrived back on the set of "Feathers of Fate."

Director Carrol, spotting Eileen, stomped his foot and exclaimed, “You finally decided to come back, huh!”

Eileen winced, “…”

Jarvis Dave, chuckling, walked over to Director Carrol and patted his shoulder, “You missed her when she wasn’t here, and now you’re scolding her.”

Carrol tossed his bun of hair indignantly, “Who missed her! Hmph!” And with that, he stormed off to his room.

Eileen rubbed her nose, asking Jarvis, “What’s his deal?”

Jarvis waved it off, “He got spooked last night, thought he saw a snake, but it was just a prop rope. He was so mad he cried on the spot.”

Eileen raised an eyebrow, “Really cried?”

Jarvis nodded, “But he insists it was out of anger, not fear.”

Eileen nodded, deciding to smooth things over later.

Jarvis then turned to Egbert, grinning, “Mr. Reed, where have you been? Ms. Lopez was quite worried.”
