Defying Fate: The Unstoppable Eileen novel Chapter 375

A brief silence fell over the rooftop.

The two people standing there, along with the person on the other end of the call, didn't say a word for a moment.

Online comments started pouring in:

— "Redefining a team, huh?"

— "You like Eileen? Seriously? Are you out of your mind?"

— "Such a nice guy, but he's a fool."

— "Shouldn't your focus be on the kid who claims to be Eileen's mentor? What kind of relationship do they have anyway?"

— "Just a mentor? I have one too."

— "I have seven or eight mentors, male and female, young and old—you name it."

— "The only reason I find a mentor is to marry one of them!"

— "What are you guys even talking about?"

— "We're discussing games. In this modern world, where else can you find mentors besides in games? This kid seems like a gaming addict, probably met Eileen in a game and became her mentor there."

— "He claims to be Eileen's mentor, and Eileen hesitated, conflicted, and then denied it, saying she doesn't know him. Clearly, they met online and hadn't seen each other until now. This kid said he joined the show just for Eileen, probably knowing she's a celebrity and wanting to make a connection. Bit of a fanboy, if you ask me."

— "But I kind of like this squinty-eyed kid. He's got skills—three headshots in one go!"

— "At the end of the day, it's just an airsoft gun. This show is still a game, and people who regularly play paintball may have an advantage over real soldiers because the weight and impact of airsoft guns and bullets are different."

— "It seems like Eileen is a weapon enthusiast, and this kid is into paintball, so they probably became mentor and mentee in the game."

— "Wow, you guys are so informed! I was shocked at first, thinking I'd stumbled upon something huge! But your analysis calmed me down."

— "So now, are we ignoring the fact that neither Eileen nor Egbert is denying the 'wife' title?"

— "Huh? Denying what?"

— "Romantic Revelations isn't finished yet; they're still publicly 'together.' Aurora and Calvert are also interacting, and Sylvia and Hobson Miller were seen vacationing together. It's all part of the show's marketing."

Egbert's call didn't last long.

Once Dick was rescued, the host cut the temporary line.

Since it was a live broadcast, they wouldn't allow unrelated parties to interfere with the recording.

As her watch returned to normal, Eileen suppressed the irritation bubbling inside her.

She picked up the sniper rifle and aimed it at the targets below.

The young man beside her called out, "Sweetheart..."

Eileen's voice was icy, "Call me by my name!"

The boy pouted, looking rather upset, but still managed to say, "Eileen."

Eileen: "..."

Eileen's eyes narrowed in displeasure, "Use my full name!"

The boy refused, standing up indignantly, "I want to use a nickname! A special one only I can use!"

Eileen squinted at him, her expression frosty.

The boy thought for a moment, then said, "Daisy."

Eileen: "..."

The boy blinked, asking, "Is that one okay? Your brother's called Bubba."

Eileen: "..."

Eileen didn't know what NightKing was feeling, but her emotions...

She really wanted to wring her mentor's neck!

Though Daisy did sound a bit better than Bubba!

Because the safe zone had shrunk, the blizzard refresh time shortened to every half hour.

Her watch indicated that the safe zone had shrunk once more.

Eileen grabbed her gear bag, slung the sniper rifle over her shoulder, and headed downstairs.

By this time, it was getting dark.

When the final safe zone appeared, it would likely be pitch black, making the outcome of the battle unpredictable.

Eileen led the way.
