Love in the Limelight novel Chapter 566

Astrid noticed the tension but responded with a smile rather than anger. "Everyone has a public persona," she began, "but I find that creating one isn't the most irritating thing. There's another type of person that's truly contemptible."

The group turned to her, puzzled.

With a slight smile, Astrid continued, "Some people appear to be celebrated maestros, yet their pieces at international exhibitions are actually crafted by their apprentices. Mr. Fletcher, don't you think such people are more deserving of disdain? Shouldn't they be the ones facing public disgrace?"

While the others were unsure who Astrid was referring to, Fletcher knew all too well. She was talking about him! But how could she know such well-guarded secrets?

Fletcher kept his head down, choosing not to speak.

Ziegler, unaware, chimed in, "Absolutely, those types are the real scourge of the industry. If I ever find out who they are, I'd expose them and ensure they have no standing in our field!"

Chloe, another judge who had been silent until now, agreed, "Exactly! It's appalling, especially for the apprentices who slave away only to see someone else take the credit. Meanwhile, the so-called 'master' just basks in the glory. How thick-skinned can one get, right, Mr. Fletcher?"

The mention of his name made Fletcher's heart skip a beat. To avoid suspicion, he quickly agreed, "Yes, yes, their audacity is indeed incredible."

Moments ago, Fletcher had been relentless in his critique of Astrid, but now he was subdued, unable even to meet her gaze.
