Love in the Limelight novel Chapter 600

The entire first-class cabin was eerily quiet, occupied solely by Astrid, her two companions, and Garnett with his bodyguards who had booked out the rest of it.

Chad typed furiously on his phone, "Chief, don't make any sudden moves. We're outnumbered here." He handed the phone over to Astrid.

She glanced at the screen and rolled her eyes dramatically.

Chad just sighed, exchanging a resigned look with Hank.

As the plane took off, the tension was palpable. After a while, Astrid faintly overheard Garnett chatting with Bernice.

"I can't believe you're taking me to your organization's headquarters," Bernice said with a touch of awe. "I've heard you just got divorced, and your ex-wife is quite influential. Will she be upset with me there?"

"Don't worry," Garnett reassured her. "As long as I'm around, I'll keep you safe."

"Oh, you're too good to me," Bernice cooed like a schoolgirl, prompting Chad and Hank to exchange looks of mutual disgust and make gagging gestures.

"Divorced just days ago? And already with a new woman?" Chad muttered under his breath. "Homewrecker."

Astrid remained seated, seemingly unfazed by the drama, and casually slipped off her jacket, revealing a form-fitting top that accentuated her lithe figure.

A few hours into the flight, Garnett stood to use the restroom. As he passed Astrid, he couldn't help but be drawn to her. Even with her mask obscuring her face, her porcelain skin and stunning silhouette were unmistakable.

Chad and Hank barely managed to restrain themselves from gouging out Garnett's leering eyes. But they knew better than to interfere with their Chief's plans.
