Love in the Limelight novel Chapter 557

Listening to Astrid's words, Linda trembled with anger. She clenched her fists and stood there, unwilling to further damage her reputation in Director York's eyes. Holding her temper, she retorted, "Astrid, there's no need for your snide remarks. You just memorized the script a day ahead, what's the big deal?"

"A day?" Director York couldn't help but chuckle coldly. "Linda, you should really learn from Astrid. She's already memorized all the lines for the roles we'll be filming over the next decade. Before you arrived, she was discussing character emotions and choreographing fight scenes with me."

"And what about you? I heard you caused quite a ruckus last night. As a young actress, you should know better. Spending the night partying with a bunch of guys in your room—how inappropriate!"

Initially, many thought Linda was just listening to loud music alone, but it turned out she was having a wild party.

The gazes directed at Linda became subtly judgmental. Pressing her lips together, she was on the verge of tears.

Director York, known for her strictness, particularly despised actors like Linda who relied on connections to slack off. She couldn't control other productions, but she wouldn't tolerate an actor who didn't even bother to learn their lines in hers.

Linda couldn't believe Astrid had truly memorized so many lines. Though displeased, she didn't dare to confront her openly and returned to the hotel, feeling utterly miserable.
