Love in the Limelight novel Chapter 556

"Glad you realize your mistake," Emily said, casting a glance at Linda before turning to the others standing nearby. "What are you waiting for? Get over here and start her makeover."

"Don't be difficult. This opportunity didn't come easily. If you perform well, you'll shine just as brightly. I've already talked to the screenwriter, and they've added more scenes for you," Emily reassured her.

"Thanks, Emily," Linda replied, her voice tinged with gratitude.

The group moved inside, and Emily let out a long sigh. The fiasco with Joana had already cast a shadow over her career. If Linda messed up this time, it would be the end of the road for her in this industry.

Linda hadn't slept a wink all night, and the heavy makeup couldn't conceal the exhaustion on her face. She looked like she was wearing a mask, her complexion unnatural.

By the time she arrived on set, she was practically floating as she walked.

Today, she had a scene with Astrid. In the script, she played the role of the favored daughter, while Astrid was the underdog. This scene was where she got to torment Astrid's character, and Linda relished the idea. She had already planned to deliberately mess up a few times just to give Astrid a harder time.

But things didn't go as planned. As soon as they got into position, Director York shouted for a cut.

"Linda, what happened to your face? You're supposed to be the most beautiful woman in Harmony City, but you look like this? Anyone would think you're playing the protagonist's aunt!" Director York exclaimed, exasperated.

"Aunt?" The word hit Linda like a blow, and she nearly burst into tears. "Director, how can you say that?"

"You're not yourself! You're listless! Start over!" Director York barked. Linda, tears brimming in her eyes, walked off to the side, her resentment toward Astrid growing even stronger.

Even the initial blocking took several takes. When it was finally time for her lines, Linda started with, "Isn't the weather great today..."

Astrid was momentarily stunned but maintained her professionalism, responding smoothly.
