Agnes exclaimed, "Why didn't I think of that?"
Elton replied, "Well, the security system here is pretty tight. It'll take Nate a little while to hack through it. Let's grab some breakfast, and by the time we're back, we should be good to go."
Agnes and Elton headed to the café.
This time, they skipped the crowded underwater restaurant and opted for a cozy little diner instead.
Agnes picked up a small bowl of oatmeal, taking a few absent-minded bites.
When she looked up, she noticed a familiar silhouette by the entrance.
Agnes paused, her mind racing.
Elton noticed the change in her expression. "Agnes, what's up? Did you see something?"
Agnes blurted out, "I think I saw Kearney."
With that, she sprang from her seat and rushed toward the door.
But by the time she got there, the figure had already left with a to-go breakfast in hand.
Agnes stood at the entrance, scanning the bustling street, her heart pounding. Where had he gone?
Elton caught up with her, asking, "Are you sure it was Kearney?"
Agnes nodded confidently. "I'm sure. I know his build and the way he walks. I couldn't mistake him."
Back when Agnes worked as a journalist in Manhattan, she had honed her skills in identifying people.
Turning to Elton, she said, "We need to get back and see if Nate has cracked the surveillance system. We know they left their room this morning, so the timeframe is small. We just need to pinpoint the room number."
They hurried back.
Once inside Elton's room, he quickly powered up the laptop.
Nate had already sent over the surveillance footage.
Agnes instructed, "I spotted Kearney around 6:45 this morning. Just pull up the footage from 6:00 onwards."
