The burning cigarette butt fell right onto Brad's foot like a sizzling coal. Feeling the stinging pain, he danced on his feet and kicked off his sandals. The pain snapped him back to reality, and he was shaken beyond words.
Brad planned to have Matthew clash with the Wood family and seize the opportunity to dig up their dirty secrets. Then, he would team up with other forces to kick the Wood family out of the military.
But who would have guessed Matthew would take out the Wood family's heir right from the start? Moreover, Isaac was Horace's grandson. How did Matthew find the nerve to go this far?
Dominic heard some screams from the phone, but then everything went quiet. He became even more anxious.
"Isaac's body is here with us, Mr. Miles. We have nothing to do with it. Matthew was the one who killed him."
Brad took a deep breath. As Skylar retrieved his sandals, he put them back on.
Hearing Dominic trying to shift the blame, Brad snapped, "What's wrong? Are you scared of the Wood family getting back at you?"
Realizing that he'd been called out, Dominic blabbered, "The Wood family is too formidable. I just want to protect the Larkin family."
Brad coldly grunted. "Who knows about this? Please tell me it hasn't gotten out."
Dominic swore, "I haven't told anyone, not even my dad. If words get out, I'm ready to be court-martialed."
Brad's gaze turned intense. "This is an order. Isaac's death is classified information. If news of it leaks, you all will be court-maritaled. Besides that, keep an eye on Matthew and someone to deliver the body to me."
After ending the call, Brad tossed the phone back to Skylar and stared blankly at the curb.
After a while, Brad cursed out loud. "Fuck! He looked so soft like a fresh graduate. Can you believe he had the nerve to kill Isaac? He's much crazier than me. No doubt about it, he's the successor of Juprus Ring."
Next to Brad, Skylar couldn't help but twitch his mouth. Brad didn't often use foul language unless he was pissed off or excited. But when he did, he would swear up a storm.
