It was then that Richard knew he couldn't rely on his executives to save him anymore. Then, he gritted his teeth and crawled toward Matthew as he pleaded, "I know that I was wrong now. Please forgive me.
"I won't make a police report anymore, so please don't hand me over to the police. I'd do anything you want me to!"
Seeing that, Matthew kicked Richard to the ground. "Are you starting to regret it now? Well, you're too late! Screw off!"
Richard was kicked so hard that he flew about a meter away, but he continued to get back up and crawled toward Matthew, kneeling in front of him.
"Please! I beg of you! I really see my faults now! I won't be a director anymore, and I'll hand over Silvaris Pharmaceuticals to your care. I'll make sure the production goes smoothly too!"
Matthew coldly snorted and said, "Who do you think you are? Did you really think Silvaris Pharmaceuticals can't operate well without you? I'm telling you—if it weren't for you, maybe Silvaris Pharmaceuticals wouldn't have shut down! Fuck off!"
The commotion they caused had attracted the attention of the security guards, and Zachary brought a group with him.
Then, Matthew pointed at Richard and said to Zachary, "Tie him up and hand him over to the police once they arrive."
Then, Reuben and a few other security guards quickly tried to hold Richard down and dragged him out. In light of the situation, the executives from Silvaris Pharmaceuticals stayed in the conference room.
A man in his mid-30s stepped forward and expressed first. "Ms. Carter, we have nothing to do with Richard. He was the one who called us here and made us get caught up in this matter. But we'll listen to your arrangements from now on."
Rachel never expected the tables to turn so quickly and smiled. "Don't worry, I won't wrongfully get mad at you for the things Richard has done. As for the new job arrangements, I'll get someone to announce it tomorrow. Let's end here for today."
With that, everyone dispersed and left the conference room.
Once everyone had left, Rachel stared at Matthew with wide eyes in silence. Since she kept staring at him, Matthew felt a little uneasy and looked down at his clothes—he had dressed properly, and his fly was zipped as well, so why was Rachel staring at him like that?
Then, Matthew voiced out in confusion, "What's wrong? Why are you staring at me?"
Rachel's thoughts were racing through her mind. At first, she had thought that Matthew made a move impulsively and felt a little disappointed.
But Matthew had proved her wrong, and she realized that he was really composed, which was a newfound merit. Rachel blinked as she continued to stare at Matthew and wonder just what kind of a person he was.
