Matthew was perplexed. "What old man? What does he look like? Is his hair all white? Is he fat? Has a round belly?"
He thought his mentor, Nicholas, had come. He felt inexplicably elated.
Worried that Matthew wouldn't come, Rachel replied, "Come and see for yourself." At that, she hung up.
Matthew quickly headed for Wealthwave Group.
It had been ages since he had seen Nicholas. When he arrived at the front of Wealthwave Group, he got out of the car and darted toward the entrance.
From a distance, he noticed Rachel. He asked her immediately, "Where's my mentor?"
"Your mentor?" Rachel mused and glanced at the old man nearby. She didn't expect him to be Matthew's mentor.
She thought it was fortunate that she hadn't offended him. Otherwise, she would have offended a truly legendary physician.
As Barrett heard Matthew asking about his mentor as soon as he arrived, he felt delighted. He thought, "This kid. I haven't even accepted him as an apprentice, and he's already calling me his mentor."
Matthew's seemingly sweet words made Barrett glad he had come that day. He groomed the few strands of hair on his head and walked to Matthew. "My sweet apprentice, I'm here."
Matthew looked at Barrett and frowned.
He had noticed Barrett, but he didn't know him. He had no idea why Barrett was calling him his apprentice.
He took two steps back and said, "Sir, you've mistaken me for someone else. I'm not your apprentice."
Barrett said with a smile, "I didn't make a mistake. You're Matthew Grant, right?"
Matthew nodded. "Yes, I am."
