Rewriting My Heart's Fate novel Chapter 504

Ethan froze, confused. "Mars Group? What does that have to do with me?"

"Of course, it does! Just follow the board of directors' orders and marry Vivian," Julia explained. "Otherwise, you'll lose all the support from our family. Grayson Group will take the brunt of it if you don't!

"The Albrights own Mars Group. They're the wealthiest family in the world, and the company's the largest company ever. I'm sure you won't give this golden opportunity up."

I inhaled sharply. Julia was threatening Ethan!

Despite the threat, Ethan let out a cold bark of laughter. "Mom, what you're doing doesn't work on me. I'd give Grayson Group up, even if it meant Evelyn and I would end up living on the streets. I won't give Evelyn up."

Stunned, I stared at him as my eyes glazed over with tears.

Ethan had changed. He wasn't the cowardly man who would yell and force me into doing something against my will. He had turned into a man who stood his ground and would go against the entire world for me.

Was he really doing all this for me?

"Are you crazy?" Julia yelled, furious. She glowered at Ethan, her eyes filled with disbelief. "Are you really going to give up all your power and wealth for a woman? You're nothing without our family's support!"

In stark contrast to her anger, Ethan smiled calmly and told her, "You're wrong. I have a wife and a child now. They're my everything. As for Grayson Group… that's just a vessel of material wealth. It doesn't define me or decide the course of my life."

My heart beat wildly in my chest. I couldn't wish for anything else in this world.

With tears streaming down my face, I grabbed Ethan's hand and said, "Ethan, you're the best thing I could ever ask for."

Looking down, he wiped away the tears on my face. His voice was soft when he spoke to me. "Evelyn, I'm sorry for letting you down. I swear I won't let anyone give you a hard time anymore. I will protect our family even if it means going against the entire world."

"You two… You're ridiculous!" Julia seethed as she trembled from rage. "Ethan, mark my words! You're as good as dead after this!"

With that, she stormed off, leaving me sitting on the bed with tear stains on my face and Ethan sitting right beside me.

I hugged my baby tightly and relaxed in Ethan's embrace. "Sorry…" I muttered. "It's all because of me that—"
