Rewriting My Heart's Fate novel Chapter 490

Seriously? How'd Vivian end up here?

"It's great to see you, Ms. Albright," I said, keeping my tone steady as I approached her. "What brings you by?"

Vivian gave a small smile and gracefully took a seat. She looked around, nodded, and said, "Not bad, Ms. Wiley. You actually got your company back. I got to give you credit for that."

I felt a rush of concern, wondering what she was after.

"You're too kind, Ms. Albright. It wouldn't have been possible without the help of some great people," I said, keeping it humble. "Honestly, I should be thanking you. You're the one who made all this possible."

"Me?" Vivian's eyes widened in surprise. "What exactly do you mean by that, Ms. Wiley?"

I met her gaze and stressed every word. "I know you had a hand in getting Mr. Albright to clear the way for me. Am I right? I really appreciate the help."

Vivian flushed, and she stumbled over her words. "Well… I just thought you were being treated unfairly and wanted to help you set things straight."

Wow, she actually looked flustered. Was this the same Vivian who was always so confident and untouchable?

Just then, a thought popped into my head, bold and uninvited. Could it be…

I took a deep breath and went straight for it. "Ms. Albright, are you helping me because of… Ethan?"

"What? N-No, it's not like that." Vivian frantically waved her hand, and her face went redder.

I could tell right away that I was on the right track.
