"How the hell am I supposed to trust you, Ethan? We're engaged, and you're still hooking up with other women in a place like this. Doesn't that show how screwed up everything is?" I shot back.
"I…" Ethan trailed off, his face drained of color. "Please, Evelyn, just give me a chance to explain this. I swear, I never cheated on you!"
"Enough!" I snapped. Then, I stressed every word as I continued, "I'm done with your lies and empty promises. It's over. You go your way, and I'll go mine."
With that, I stormed off without looking back.
Ethan called my name behind me, his voice breaking, but I tuned him out and let the tears fall. I knew I'd never trust him again. All his promises were just empty words. He betrayed me in the end.
I grabbed my suitcase and left the Grayson residence, my body shaking with anger as I cried my eyes out.
Why the hell was life kicking me when I was already down? I'd given everything to my career. What did I do to deserve this?
When I arrived at the hotel, I called up Kevin and Lianna. I'd been distant with them lately, but they probably kept Evelyn Studio running smoothly while I was absent.
They showed up soon enough, and I laid everything out for them.
"Stop crying, Evelyn," Lianna said, pulling me into a hug. "Vivian's such a bitch! She's not getting away with this!"
I was touched. I nodded and squeezed their hands tight.
