Love in the Limelight novel Chapter 568

"No, no, no..." The director felt a wave of awkwardness wash over her as Astrid hit the nail on the head. She hadn't expected Astrid to be so blunt. "It's not like that, really. It's all for the show's effect."

"Oh..." Astrid nodded slightly. "Well, you can rest easy then. The more genuine your show is, the higher the ratings will be. Audiences aren't blind. If you start sugarcoating things, they'll turn on you."

Astrid had made her point clear, leaving the director with little to argue. After all...

Elio had noticed it as soon as he entered the room.

If he kept pestering Astrid, Elio would be displeased, and that would surely spell trouble for him.

A few minutes later, the show resumed filming.

By this time, some of the audience members had dozed off. Those who were still awake had taken to playing games on their phones. Hardly anyone was paying serious attention to the competition.

Noticing this, the host raised his voice deliberately. "Next up, we have a remarkable contestant! He once won the National Sculpture Championship and has been mastering his craft for fifteen years. He's a true expert!"

Hearing that an expert was coming on stage piqued the audience's interest, and they turned their eyes toward the stage.

Astrid, too, found herself a bit intrigued by this expert.

Soon, a group of five walked onto the stage. The lead introduced himself confidently, "Hello everyone, I'm Jonah Quinn. I've won twelve championships, and my goal this time is nothing less than victory."

Jonah Quinn's cocky demeanor annoyed some of his teammates, but his talent was undeniable, so they held their tongues.

The competition began.

While others chose relatively simple animal carvings, Jonah Quinn opted for a dragon.

His hands moved quickly and steadily.

The camera zoomed in on his hands, and the audience's interest was rekindled. "Finally, someone impressive."

"Oh my gosh, his speed and precision are incredible!"

"This time, Astrid can't possibly give a low score, right?"

"I just don't get why she always scores so low, acting like she's some expert!"

"..."

Amidst the audience's murmurs, Jonah Quinn completed his masterpiece.
