Heartstrings on Fire novel Chapter 1261

Now everything was completely paralyzed, and they were left without any clues. To make matters worse, Kearney had vanished.

"I can't wrap my head around it. What on earth happened?" Agnes exclaimed, her voice tinged with frustration.

Elton sat on the couch, his expression as grim as the situation they were in. They had been waiting for what felt like forever, but there was still no news.

The officials blamed the communication and power outage on some geomagnetic disturbance, assuring them it would be resolved soon. But that did little to ease the tension since both Agnes and Elton had lost contact with the outside world.

Even Nate’s line was almost cut off. It was down to the two of them to solve the crisis at hand.

The ship was massive, and Agnes had no idea where Phenix might have been taken. Even if she did, she couldn’t make any rash moves. Interfering with the captors' plans might put Phenix in more danger.

Just when Agnes was on the brink of despair, a sudden turn of events occurred.

Word spread that someone had heard gunfire echoing throughout the ship. The entire cruise liner was abuzz with the news. Everyone knew armed men were on board.

The commotion was centered on the biggest deck, Deck 1. Agnes and Elton wasted no time heading there.

But when they arrived, the deck was deserted. Passengers were too frightened to leave their cabins, though a few brave souls peeked out, trying to get a glimpse of what was happening.

The deck was like a fortress, surrounded by a group of men in camouflage gear. It was hard to tell how many there were, but they looked like a well-organized military unit.

Agnes was about to rush forward when Elton grabbed her arm. "What are you thinking?" he asked, his voice steady but concerned.
