Heartstrings on Fire novel Chapter 1220

For half a month, life was an oasis of tranquility for Agnes. May had arrived, marking two weeks since she had resigned from her job. Her days were filled with dropping off and picking up Nocturne from school, enjoying languid mornings, and occasionally visiting the CEO's office at the Tim Group. Life was leisurely and pleasant.

Agnes couldn't recall ever living such a relaxed and carefree life before. However, as the days passed, she began to feel a sense of restlessness creeping in. She toyed with the idea of opening a flower shop or a bookstore. As a child, she had been an avid reader, especially after her mother's passing when Laura joined the family.

To escape the tense atmosphere at home, Agnes often sought refuge in a quaint bookstore located in the old part of town. The shop, with its vintage charm, felt like a portal to another era. It was a quiet haven, filled with an array of books. Agnes would find a cozy corner, settle in with a book, and spend entire days immersed in reading. Those solitary weekends didn't feel lonely at all.

Years ago, the bookstore closed down due to redevelopment, and Agnes had always longed for the special feeling it evoked. She envisioned creating her own sanctuary, a refuge for those seeking solace, which seemed like a meaningful pursuit.

Being a woman of action, Agnes quickly found a location and decided on the décor. Her days were now bustling with renovation work, sometimes getting home even later than Jared. Nonetheless, she made it a point to pick up Nocturne from school every day. Sometimes they would visit the shop together, or she’d drop him off at the Tim Group to spend time with Jared until work was done.
