Nocturne nodded in agreement.
Esther, with tears in her eyes, said, "Nocturne, I don't want you to leave."
After saying that, Esther hugged Nocturne tightly. Nocturne didn't say anything, but he comforted her by gently patting her back. Agnes watched the scene unfold, feeling like it was straight out of a late-night soap opera. Only, the protagonists seemed a bit young for the roles.
Jenny walked over and said, "Esther, don't be so sad. Your brother Nocturne is just moving to Willowbrook Town. We're moving there too, and it's not far. You guys can still see each other often."
Esther's face lit up with joy: "Really?"
Jenny smiled and said, "Of course, it's true. Agnes’s parents are friends with yours, so they'll definitely bring Nocturne over for visits."
Esther clapped her hands happily. Full of anticipation, Esther asked Agnes, "Agnes, you’ll bring Nocturne over to my place, right?"
Agnes, seeing the child's innocent expression, couldn't bear to shatter her hopes. Agnes nodded, "Of course, you and Nocturne will definitely see each other often."
Agnes thought to herself that Nocturne was going to start school soon. And so was Esther. The best preschools in Willowbrook Town were only a handful. It was very likely they'd end up at the same school, and with a little effort, getting them into the same class wouldn’t be a problem. That way, they could continue to be best friends.
