A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 811

Matilda fell silent, turning away and brushing shoulders with Declan as they crossed paths at the end of the hallway. Their shadows stretched long along the wall, a testament to the distance between them.

When Matilda reached the base's main hall, she found Lance lounging on the couch, his silver hair cascading around him like a glistening waterfall. He looked up, a mischievous grin spreading across his face, charming and almost otherworldly. "Hey there, done talking with Yvan?"

"Nothing much to discuss."

Matilda nodded briefly at Lance, intending to leave, but then remembered Logan. "Where's my son?"

"That little rascal? He's in my room."

Lance got up, towering over Matilda despite his slender build, his features delicate yet commanding. He cast a shadow over her as he smirked, "You don't look too happy."

Who would be, after dealing with Yvan?

Matilda didn’t respond, just gave a noncommittal hum. Lance, hands in his pockets, led her toward his room with a casual swagger that seemed to stir a breeze, his silver hair trailing behind him like a model on a runway. "I figured you two might patch things up."

"Not a chance."

Matilda replied coolly, "There's no need to get back together."

"After everything you've been through, it's a shame you're not together."

Lance, seemingly Yvan's advocate, glanced back at Matilda with a teasing smile. "Come on, don't look so glum. Whether you're together or not doesn't matter to me. I'm just trying to put in a good word for poor Yvan and maybe improve his standing in your eyes."

What standing did Yvan have in Matilda's eyes?
