Donna probably never expected Matilda to slap her so swiftly. Just a moment ago, seeing her hesitate, Donna assumed Matilda was intimidated by her connections. But then, Matilda's hand came flying across her face, leaving Donna trembling on the ground.
“I’m telling you, Matilda… you’re done for. I’ll make sure you regret this—”
Matilda chuckled, her disdain evident. “You think you can? Do you honestly believe the whole world revolves around you? How clueless must you be to think that’s something to brag about?”
Donna was stunned by Matilda's sudden change of attitude. No one dared to help Donna up; maybe everyone had long been fed up with her antics. Matilda’s slap was like a breath of fresh air for them, a release of pent-up frustration. No one was concerned about Donna's feelings now.
Donna had hoped to bring Matilda down, but instead, she ended up making a fool of herself in front of everyone.
Matilda smirked, her eyes narrowing. “As for whether I have a meeting with the CEO of Starlight Media, that’s not for you to decide. Who do you think you are, strutting around the company like you own the place?”
Donna shivered on the floor, then let out a shrill scream, “You wretched woman, how dare you talk to me like that! You’ll pay for this—!”
Donna suddenly found the energy to lunge at Matilda, but Matilda swiftly dodged and gave a sharp shove, sending Donna back onto the ground.
Bennett, frowning but amused, stepped in. “Cousin, this isn’t how we treat guests, is it?”
“Cousin…”
Donna was incredulous. “You’d side with her over your own family?”
