A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 819

Matilda didn't utter a word, remaining perfectly silent, her resolve unwavering.

The man, however, chuckled softly. "I'm the CEO of this company, the only one with the authority to fire you. If you're letting someone like Donna intimidate you, it just shows you're afraid of a little power. Honestly, what use do we have for security guards like that?"

Wasn't it fear of losing their job if they didn't listen to Donna?

And here he was, ready to fire them right in front of everyone!

Donna was trembling all over; her cousin's words seemed like a reprimand to the two clueless guards, but in truth, every word was a slap to her own face! She, Donna, had no right to threaten any employee in the company; only the CEO had that power!

Once the two guards slunk away from the company entrance, the man turned his attention back to Matilda. Extending his hand with an unblemished smile, he said, "Hello, Matilda. Long time no see."

Matilda was momentarily stunned by his smile, and it took her a while to reach out and shake the man's hand. "Bennett Fuller, long time indeed."

How long had it been…? His name felt almost like a distant memory.

"You remembered my name."
