The Great Medical Saint novel Chapter 408

Renae glanced around the room, and her face fell. She assumed there'd only be one or two people showing up for the deal, but she was shocked to see over ten hulking men.

As a doctor, she could tell a first glance that these people were robust and in far better shape than Ted and his thugs had been. She finally realized why Matthew didn't want her to tag along.

When the old man called out to her, Renae subconsciously took a step back.

Carmelo Durbin saw the fear in Reane's eyes and the panic on her lovely face. Her delicate look and voluptuous figure somehow got his heart racing with excitement.

"Relax. I'm not going to bite. Come over here, and let's talk about the medical literature."

Matthew took a step forward and blocked Carmelo's line of sight. "If you're here for the medical literature, you talk to me."

Carmelo shifted his gaze to Matthew. "Where is it then?"

Matthew raised an eyebrow. "Where's the money?"

Carmelo glanced at the person behind him. The latter placed a suitcase on the floor and opened it up, revealing stacks of cash inside.

"Give me the medical literature, and here's your payment. The money is enough for you to live quite comfortably."

Matthew's expression turned frosty. "This is just two million dollars. We agreed on 200 million dollars. This is nowhere near enough."

Carmelo shook his head. Despite his old age, he exuded a dangerous and chilly air. "You're in no position to bargain with me. Take what I offer, or you'll end up with nothing if you annoy me."

Matthew looked at Carmelo with a chill in his eyes. "Are you planning to take my medical literature by force?"

Carmelo crossed his arms. "Why would I bother paying when I can just grab the book by force without breaking a sweat? Hand over the medical literature."

Matthew clenched his fists, ready to make a move. But with Renae behind him, he stayed put. "No chance I'm having it over."

A chilling glint flashed in Carmelo's old eyes. He turned to the young man bringing out the money earlier and said, "The real owner of the medical literature is that woman. This man is just a nuisance. Get rid of him."
