The Great Medical Saint novel Chapter 371

At those words, Levi faltered. If he said Isaac's name, it wouldn't just affect the situation with Matthew.

Even if he cut ties with Cedric and started a conflict between Isaac and the forces behind Cedric, the ramifications would be too great.

He had no idea what a battle between the top dogs would bring, but no good would come to the person who stirred up trouble.

As Isaac's method of operation came to his mind, a chill ran down Levi's spine. He was not the only person who had chickened out. Cedric had, too. That was why he had reminded Levi.

"I did it on my own."

Cedric felt somewhat relieved. "Then bear the consequences by yourself."

Matthew frowned. "Cedric, what are you doing?"

Cedric looked troubled, but he was genuinely afraid of escalating the matter. "Mr. Grant, the fallout would be too much. I can fire Levi right now and look into his and Tobias' criminal activities. Is that alright?"

Matthew scoffed. Those matters were irrelevant to him. He was looking for the mastermind.

He moved to Levi and grabbed his hair. "Tell me. Who is he?"

Levi had gotten his priorities straight. "I did it on my own. I'll take any beating or punishment right now. I'm sorry. Please spare me."

As he spoke, he raised his hand and slapped himself. After slapping himself once, he did it again and again. Before long, he started bleeding from the corner of his mouth.

Matthew's face grew colder. He knew he wouldn't get an answer. He grabbed a chair beside him and smashed it down.

Snap!

The chair broke into pieces. Blood flowed from Levi's head. After swaying a little, he fell to the ground.

Cedric watched with wide eyes. He thought Matthew was ruthless. Levi was still a deputy mayor. Even Cedric himself wouldn't dare to do that. He wouldn't be able to face the consequences.
