After a long while, Levi finally gathered his wits and took Cedric's hand, apologizing in fear, "I'm sorry, Mr. Moore. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do that. I was so frantic today that I slipped up."
Cedric looked livid. "It wasn't that you were frantic and slipped up. I think you've gone mad. Do you have any idea what you're doing?
"We've been trying to collect evidence against Tobias and his criminal organization. I'd never thought you'd be the person behind him. And why did you give Matthew trouble? You must give him an explanation."
Levi's face was ashen. Cedric was clearly on good terms with Matthew. He couldn't understand how Cedric knew someone as insignificant as Matthew. He was in big trouble.
Nonetheless, without Isaac's permission, he dared not reveal anything.
Matthew got up and walked to Levi. "Are you not going to give me an explanation?"
Levi feared Cedric, given that the latter was his immediate superior. However, he held a higher position than Matthew. A small fry like Matthew was nothing to him.
He asked rudely, "So what if I don't?"
Without any hesitation, Matthew gave Levi a loud slap across the face.
Levi looked at him in shock. "Are you crazy? You dare hit me?"
Matthew had no reason to be afraid. He kicked Levi's stomach, knocking him to the ground. "I could break you!"
Slam!
Levi was launched three feet away by a kick, hitting the ground with a heavy thud.
Clutching his stomach, he cried out in pain, "My… my stomach… It hurts!"
Cedric was standing to the side, watching them dumbly. Despite being the top brass of Lambda City, he wouldn't dare attack Levi like that either.
