With tears streaming down his face, Anthony said, "It was Matthew who killed Hayden. He isn't your average martial artist. Despite everything you've taught me, he still defeated me in one blow. I'm certain that he's an heir from a major family."
Wallace's expression fell, his eyes filled with agony. The muscles on his aged face twitched slightly.
With a hint of sorrow, Wallace said in a raspy voice, "I was just on the phone with Hayden this morning. How did he die? He was so young.
"My poor Hayden is gone forever. I swear I'll kill Matthew. He's going to pay with his life for what he did to Hayden. I'll make him suffer in the worst way possible."
When Wallace mentioned taking Matthew's life, the hatred in his voice was so intense that it gave Anthony goosebumps. Anthony felt a chill run down his spine.
Despite that, Anthony stepped forward. "I'm going with you, Mr. Hobbes Senior. I want to kill Matthew to avenge Hayden."
Wallace sighed. "You're injured, Anthony. It looks like your rib is broken. You've endured the pain as you made your way back, and I know you must have been through a lot. Have someone to get you treated. I'll handle the revenge myself."
Anthony worriedly said. "I'm still uneasy about you going, Mr. Hobbes Senior. Matthew is vicious and has all sorts of tricks up his sleeve. I'm concerned for your safety. I think I should go with you."
Feeling touched, Wallace glanced at Anthony. "If only Hayden and Eric cared as much as you do. I'll get you treated first. Once you've healed up, we'll go together."
…
In Lambda City, a group of people were cleaning at Lambda Villa. Some were hauling away the bodies, and the others were cleaning the floors.
They were professionals. The floor was spotless, with not a trace of blood to be seen.
Ansel looked around the house before telling Matthew, "Martial artists have shown up in Lambda City lately. They must be picking up on something.
Matthew furrowed his brows. "What does that mean? Are you saying that something big is going down in Lambda City? Did they discover a secret technique or some kind of treasure?"
Ansel sighed. "Martial artists usually face two major roadblocks. Firstly, most of them struggle to improve their cultivation and have a hard time ascending beyond the stage of strengthening their body.
"The second roadblock is their lifespan. It's a problem for all of humanity. No matter how great someone is, they're only going to live for about 100 years. The solution might lie with the doctors.
