The Great Medical Saint novel Chapter 278

After hearing Sara's command, Louis fixed Matthew with a scornful glare. "So, you're the chauffeur?"

As someone from the top martial artist family in Lambda City, Louis had an inflated sense of superiority. He dismissed even other martial artists from lesser families as beneath him. To him, a mere chauffeur wasn't worth his attention.

Matthew met Louis' gaze with icy calm. As a martial artist, he typically adhered to an unspoken rule of not engaging with ordinary people unless provoked. But Louis had broken that rule, using brutal methods and severely injuring several people.

He said, "Do you even realize what you're doing? Barging in here in broad daylight and injuring people? This is a straight-up criminal."

Louis' contempt grew. "What's wrong? Are you afraid?"

Matthew responded coldly, "It's not about fear. Everyone needs to adhere to some rules."

Louis suddenly burst into laughter. "Rules? Ha! Rules are set by the powerful to keep the weak in check. They're made for people like you—what do they have to do with me?"

Matthew's eyes glinted with a cold, sharp intensity. "You consider yourself a strongman? I've never heard of you."

Louis shook his head slightly. He realized Matthew was indeed just a chauffeur—narrow-minded and ignorant. He sneered and said, "That's because you're not worthy of knowing. I'm from the Evans family in Lambda City.

"Even if I told you, you wouldn't understand. It's not just you. Even your boss can't break into the real circle of power. Hand over Silas, and I might let you go. Otherwise, you'll end up like those guys downstairs."

He knew his real target was Silas. His brutal treatment of the guards was meant to intimidate them. Now that he was face-to-face with Matthew, he was focused on his goal.

Matthew responded coldly, "I won't hand over Silas. Even if you let me go, I won't let you off the hook."
