Penelope had been filming in Raintown and had made it clear she wanted nothing less than the penthouse suite of a five-star hotel.

That night, fate threw Lucian into her path.

He was being half-dragged by an assistant who had no clue who Penelope was. As she approached, Lucian, in a drunken stupor, pushed her away, mumbling something about Allison.

In his drunken haze, he mistook her for Allison—understandable, given their striking resemblance—and clung to her. Once they made it to the room, he collapsed on the bed, muttering Allison's name before passing out cold.

Miranda shot Lucian a wary look. "Lucian, you can't just make up stories. Maybe you were too drunk to notice."

Leah quickly added, "Exactly! Penelope was just helping you to your room. She even has pictures on her phone to prove it, right?"

Penelope nodded enthusiastically. "Yes, I've got the photos right here." She pulled out her phone and showed them a picture of a plastered Lucian sprawled on the bed, with her taking a selfie as proof.

This was her trump card in case Lucian ever denied the incident.

Miranda finally relaxed at the sight of the photo.

Lucian had been denying paternity of the baby Penelope claimed she'd lost, and it had been gnawing at Miranda. But now, seeing the evidence, a smile crept onto her face. "Penelope, you really need to take care of yourself. I think you should move in with the Lindbergs so Auntie can look after you. I'd feel much better seeing you every day."

Penelope couldn't have been happier with the suggestion.
