The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 718

She glanced at Penelope, "Did Epic Entertainment get a new CEO or what?"

Penelope assumed Miranda was already in the loop about the corporate shake-up, but the puzzled look on Miranda’s face told her otherwise. It made sense—Miranda couldn’t care less about business affairs, spending her days gardening, meditating, and perfecting her calligraphy. "Yeah, the previous guy, Mr. Landry, got busted for embezzlement or something. Mr. Sears too. There’s been a whole regime change."

Even though her agent Charlie had been promoted to Vice President.

But…

Charlie hadn’t really sent any good gigs her way.

All the high-end projects she yearned for, Charlie had shot down.

Going on and on about how without a current portfolio, she wasn’t fit for the high-profile stuff.

The criticism got louder.

Penelope was at her wit’s end, realizing that Charlie, even as VP, was useless. So she turned to Miranda for help.

"Madam, Ms. Penelope, Mr. Frances, and young master Jason have returned."

The mention of Jason wiped all other thoughts from Miranda's mind, her face lighting up with a smile. "Jason’s back, too?"

Jason Brummett had been abroad ever since his father fell ill, sticking by his side through the overseas treatments, and only now had returned.

Miranda set down her pen and paper, beckoning Penelope to follow her outside.

---

Jason, whom she hadn’t seen in ages, had lost that reckless air about him. Adulthood had chiseled his features into something more mature and composed. It seemed the wildness was now buried deep in his bones, leaving a more level-headed presence on display.

His father’s sudden illness, the gaping financial void within the company...

Cora Lindberg-Hamilton had been run ragged by the company’s deficit, taking over two months to recuperate.
