The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 628

Valeria watched Allison with a hint of derision and let out a soft snort. She leaned over to Davin, whispering something that made them both chuckle quietly.

Sure, Allison was undeniably beautiful, but in their eyes, beauty didn't necessarily mean talent. To them, she was just a pretty face, better suited as eye candy. Davin had fought tooth and nail for his role. His agent had pulled strings, and Davin himself had put in the work, analyzing the character and acing a tough audition. He had little respect for those who seemed to glide into roles, powered by wealth and connections alone.

Wade, their director, had been talking for over two hours and was visibly worn out.

"Let's take a quick break," he said, pausing to take a swig of water. "In ten minutes, we'll start dissecting your characters."

Wade had always admired Aaron, considering him a true artist. He called Aaron over to the balcony for a one-on-one chat. Wade’s wife, Ivy, was a renowned producer and best friends with Jennifer, who had a particularly close bond with Aaron. Wade had often heard Ivy talk about setting up a project with Aaron, but until now, conflicting schedules and unsuitable roles had prevented it.

"Honestly, I never thought you'd take this part," Wade confessed as they stepped outside. "It's not a standout role. This script has been my baby for years, more about Irene’s story—a narrative from a woman's perspective." Wade was fiercely protective of his work, refusing to let actors make unsanctioned changes to the script or ad-lib lines. Even a single altered sentence could set him off.
