Rewriting My Heart's Fate novel Chapter 492

That night, I lay restless in bed. I was unable to fall asleep. The message from the stranger replayed in my mind.

Those words were like a ray of sunshine, piercing through the darkest corners of my heart. Even in my most helpless and sorrowful moment, someone out there still cared for me. Perhaps I wasn't as alone as I thought.

Even if Ethan was gone, life had to go on. I couldn't give up so easily. I needed to pull myself together.

The next morning, I walked into the office with renewed energy and a fresh outlook.

"Evelyn, Are you okay? Where did you go last night? We're all so worried!" Lianne rushed over, bombarding me with questions.

"I'm fine. I just needed some time to clear my head and think things through," I said with a smile. "From now on, I won't let anyone or anything bring me down. Evelyn Studio is my everything."

"That's great. I'm so glad you've moved on!" Kevin said, patting my shoulder with a relieved look. "I told you, didn't I? You are the best! You don't need that scumbag to live your best life!"

But deep down, I knew the truth. Ethan had sacrificed himself and agreed to marry Vivian to protect my career. If he could make that kind of sacrifice, then I couldn't let him down either.

Just then, my phone chimed again. It was another message from the mysterious stranger.

"Good morning, dear Evelyn. I'm so happy to see you back on your feet. Remember, no matter what happens, I'll always be by your side. Keep going!"

A smile tugged at the corner of my lips. This unsung hero felt like a guiding light, leading me through the darkness.

Soon, I realized the best part of my day was receiving his messages. Chatting with him felt like a soothing balm for my soul.

One day, out of the blue, he asked, "Evelyn, do you believe in love at first sight?"

I froze. Was this a confession? I hesitated for a moment and decided to be honest. "To be honest, I don't really believe in it. Love takes time to grow and goes through trials."
