Imogen nodded. "I understand. I'll be careful."
She then added, "By the way, from now on, just call me Imogen. In terms of relationship, you're my sister-in-law, and we're both of the same generation even if I am ten years older than you. As long as you don't mind, we're a family."
Her smile was warm, her eyes filled with anticipation and hope, albeit with a hint of caution.
Felicia wasn't quite used to the sudden closeness and replied, "I'll call you Imogen, then."
Imogen nodded. In her heart, she was determined to make up for past mistakes and bridge the gap between them.
After Imogen left, Felicia had just turned to head back when her phone rang. It was a new investigation report from Monkey.
She opened it and read through it line by line, growing more alarmed with each detail.
A total of 16 missing women, including Jennifer, had all visited hospitals for various reasons before their disappearances. Each of them had undergone routine check-ups, including blood tests.
Almost immediately, Monkey called.
"Boss, I followed your lead and found something! The hospital's backend system was hacked, and the stolen data includes files on all 16 missing women! I also traced the hacker's tracks and found an IP address. It's nearby, at the foot of the mountain right here in Seldvale. I'm planning to check it out."
The background noise on Monkey's end was chaotic—the sound of engines and the loud chatter of street vendors. He was likely at a bus station.
Felicia frowned in concern and asked, "Are you planning to go alone? Don't do that. It's too dangerous. Stay there. I'll send a few other mercenaries to join you!"
