The woman was looking for water when, out of the blue, several burly guys blocked her path. Meanwhile, standing to the side and watching her with an unreadable expression was Maurice.

Her eyes narrowed, and she felt an instinctual fear surging from deep inside her.

Panic-stricken, she stumbled backward, only to realize that there was nowhere left to run.

His gaze remained locked on her as he slowly closed the distance between them. Maurice, known as someone who acted on impulse and did whatever he pleased, dug through old memories and finally found a relevant fragment in a corner of his mind.

It was no wonder this woman was terrified of him, and he finally understood why his subordinates found her familiar.

"So, it's you, Abbie."

The moment he spoke her name, the woman visibly flinched.

Abbie—the struggling, low-tier actress who had once clawed her way up the ladder with her looks and body—had chanced upon Stephan's assistance in terms of resources. However, before she could even finish filming her first major role, she screwed up and lost everything.

"Maurice, bet you never thought you'd end up like this, huh? I wonder if this is karma. You destroyed me and left me for dead, and now, you're stuck here too. I don't know why you came, but it doesn't matter because you're never leaving!"

As she cackled maniacally, Maurice's patience wore thin. With a flick of his gaze, he signaled his men. He wanted to restrain this woman and find ways to make her talk later.
