Heartstrings on Fire novel Chapter 1305

Agnes stood there, rigid as a statue, not a flicker of recognition in her eyes.

Ivan couldn’t help but chuckle, though there was a hint of nervousness in his voice. “Agnes, what’s up with you? You look at me like I’m a stranger. Are you that overwhelmed to see me?”

Agnes remained silent, her gaze a mix of confusion and awkwardness as she looked at the man standing before her.

That’s when Jared chimed in, “Ivan, she genuinely doesn’t remember you.”

Ivan’s face shifted, disbelief flashing across his eyes.

“What do you mean, Jared? She doesn’t remember me? Did something happen to her?”

Jared sighed, his eyes betraying a hint of sadness. “She’s lost some of her memory. She doesn’t remember any of us.”

Ivan was stunned. “Not even you?”

Jared didn’t respond, but his silence spoke volumes.

It was true. Agnes couldn’t recall even Jared.

“How did this happen?” Ivan muttered, more to himself than anyone else.

But his shock was fleeting. In a matter of seconds, Ivan regained his composure, a warm smile spreading across his face. “Well, whatever the case, it’s great to have you back, Agnes. If you don’t remember, we can just start over.”

He extended his hand with a gentlemanly charm. “Hi, I’m Ivan, your good friend. Let’s get to know each other all over again.”

There was something infectious about his smile. Agnes felt a warmth creeping into her heart, prompting her to smile back. She shook his hand, “I’m sorry I forgot you, but I’d love to be friends again.”
