Heartstrings on Fire novel Chapter 1275

Agnes had been nursing a splitting headache.

But after talking for just a short while, she felt as if her head might actually burst.

She simply couldn't go on.

Exhausted, Agnes lay down.

Soon, a troupe of doctors came bustling in.

Before she knew it, Agnes had drifted off to sleep.

Elton stood by her side the entire time.

His heart was pounding in his chest, trembling with every beat.

He had never experienced anything like this before.

He was overwhelmed, unable to make heads or tails of the situation.

He needed to take a step back, gather his thoughts.

Before long, the doctors finished their examination and emerged from the room.

An older doctor approached Elton and said, "Mr. Taylor, if Ms. Pritchard wakes up, she should be alright. The injuries on her body are minor. A few months of rest and she should recover, but her brain has suffered a severe impact. The long-term effects are unknown, and there could be some lasting consequences. We'll have to keep an eye on it."

Elton quickly asked, "Is there a chance she might have amnesia?"

The doctor replied, "It's quite possible. Currently, there's some cerebral hemorrhaging that's putting pressure on certain memory nerves. Temporary memory loss is quite normal in such cases."

"So, you're saying this memory loss could be temporary? Once the blood clot is absorbed, she might remember everything?" Elton pressed.

"In theory, yes. However, Ms. Pritchard’s case is a bit unique. We can't be certain whether it's the clot pressing on her memory nerves or if the memory center itself is damaged. If it's the latter, it might be a permanent loss," the doctor explained.

"Understood," Elton nodded.

The doctor soon took his leave.

Elton walked out to the balcony and lit a cigarette.

One after another.

He felt as if he was standing at a monumental crossroads.

Which path should he take? Should he even move forward?
