Heartstrings on Fire novel Chapter 1249

Agnes couldn't help but chuckle as she watched Elton's serious expression that day. It was amusing, yet it tugged at her heartstrings. Elton had always been the kind of guy who didn't seem to care much about anything. But here he was, taking a monk's words to heart as if they were gospel.

In that moment, Agnes made a silent vow. For those six hours, and all the years to come, she would love him fiercely.

She wore a bracelet for what felt like forever, until one day, it snapped in the shower. Agnes even had it fixed, but on her 20th birthday, she decided to cut it off for good and tossed it away. She'd never really believed in that monk's prophecy, but in a twist of fate, it came true. They ended up going their separate ways.

Maybe it was all meant to be, she mused, tapping her forehead. Why was she still dwelling on ancient history?

The very next day, the four of them set off from the Capital. Before leaving, Agnes called Jared, simply saying she was off to Australia to see Phenix and would be back in a week. She didn’t mention the cruise ship, not wanting to worry him. Jared took it in stride.

After a grueling flight, they landed at the Gold Coast International Airport late at night. No time to adjust to the timezone, they dashed to the port, as the cruise was set to sail in less than an hour.

Elton had already arranged a car outside the airport. As soon as they exited, they jumped in, with Naylor at the wheel, speeding down the road. But their haste caught the attention of the local Aussie police.
