Agnes took another bite of her soft scrambled eggs, feigning surprise as she said, "Oh? Is that so?" Her tone was casual, seemingly uninterested. Jenny wondered if her words had failed to make any impact on Agnes, unsure whether to feel relieved or not.
"Didn't Elton try to reach out to you after he came back?" Jenny asked.
"We did meet a few times because of some matters," Agnes admitted. She didn't want to lie. If the three of them were to meet in the future, and Jenny found out Agnes had deliberately hidden the truth, it would only make her seem guilty and ulterior. So, Agnes chose to be upfront.
Jenny’s face changed instantly. She knew it! Elton’s sudden return had to be connected to this woman in front of her!
"Didn't he tell you anything?" Jenny asked.
Agnes looked up at Jenny, "What do you think he should have told me?"
"Didn't he tell you that I had a daughter for him?" Jenny pressed.
Until now, Agnes had been quite indifferent to Jenny’s remarks. But this statement truly shocked her. Jenny and Elton had a daughter? This was unexpected. Agnes didn’t feel much, just surprise and disbelief. But the more she thought about it, the more she found it improbable.
