Heartstrings on Fire novel Chapter 1196

Agnes's thoughts drifted back to a few years ago, to a time that felt like a shadow over her life - the days of Century Entertainment. Jenny had been her best friend for years, yet it was during Agnes's own birthday celebration that she faced the biggest betrayal of her life. The double treachery of love and friendship had almost pushed her to the brink. Thankfully, it was during that dark time she met Jared, who became her beacon of hope. Still, Agnes's feelings towards Jenny were tangled and complex. Years had passed, yet the name Jenny still surfaced in her mind from time to time.

Back when the scandal broke, Jenny was expelled from school. Watching her once-friend being ostracized by everyone, Agnes felt only sorrow. She had wanted to help, to give Jenny a chance at a fresh start in another school, but Jenny refused. And so, they went their separate ways, losing all contact. Agnes had thought that from that day on, their paths would never cross again. But seeing her now, in such an unexpected way, brought nothing but shock and a sense of melancholy.

Amelia, frowning, said, "Can you believe how lucky Jenny got? From a small-town girl to suddenly mingling with the world's elite. But she always was manipulative, even at a young age, concocting such vile schemes against you. She almost married into wealth before; seems like she didn't learn her lesson. Who knows what tricks she pulled to become Mrs. Wilson. But to go after such an older man, that's some determination." There was a hint of disdain in Amelia's voice.

Agnes sighed, "Everyone has their own ambitions. If she's pursuing the life she wants, I guess it's not inherently wrong. After all, she's in a different world from us now."

"You might say we're from different worlds, but Agnes, it's different for you. Don't you see? Jenny's been out of the spotlight for so long, and now she suddenly reappears in Willowbrook Town, making a grand entrance by donating a building to the school and setting up a scholarship. Why do you think that is?" Amelia prodded.
