Heartstrings on Fire novel Chapter 1190

Agnes carefully pondered Jared's words. She found some truth in them, but a stubborn sadness still lingered in her heart. Yet, having Jared by her side was like a flicker of light in the dimness of life, offering her a touch of comfort. With a strained smile, Agnes said, "Let's not think about it for now. We'll talk about it later."

Jared suddenly moved in front of Agnes and crouched down. Agnes was slightly surprised, "What are you doing?"

"You silly, I'm going to carry you," Jared said playfully. Agnes's lips curved into a slight smile, and without saying anything, she leaned onto Jared's back. Jared carried Agnes step by step along the beach. Above them, the Starlight International Group sparkled, and the sound of the waves filled their ears. It felt like a romantic dream. Though the world around them was dark, Agnes could feel a real warmth. She knew that if they kept walking, dawn would surely come.

Jared carried Agnes the whole way, and the sound of the waves almost lulled her to sleep. But Agnes thought the scene was too precious to miss, and she didn't want to go back. When Jared asked her, she insisted on waiting for the sunrise. Eventually, they sat down on a rock, with about two hours left until sunrise. Agnes was already very tired. Jared asked if she wanted to go back to sleep, but Agnes stubbornly refused.

After sitting on the rock for a while, Agnes was so drowsy that she couldn't keep her eyes open. Jared let her lie on his lap, took off his jacket, and draped it over her. "Sleep," Jared said gently. Agnes tried to stay awake, "No, I want to wait for the sunrise."
