"No, stop!" Agnes shouted as she saw the situation escalating, rushing to intercept Reggie.
Agnes grabbed Reggie's arm, "Godfather, you can't kill him. No matter the reason, taking a life is against the law. Please, let the police handle it. Let him spend his life in prison, repenting for his deeds. You can't be the one to end his life, Godfather."
Reggie was fuming, "This monster, not killing him with my own hands won't quench the rage in my heart. Sean was framed, became a wanted man internationally because of high-ranking officials' conspiracies, all because of you, wasn't it?"
At this point, Kearney didn't even bother to deny it.
"Yes, it was me, all me," Kearney admitted with a twisted smirk. "It was all out of selfish desires. I thought making him a wanted man would drive him away from Phoenix, but I never anticipated it would all be in vain. So, I've been plotting, waiting for the perfect plan to kill him. And it almost worked at his wedding to Phenix, a wedding I orchestrated, with assassins I've trained over the years posing as terrorists. There would be no trace back to me."
Kearney laid bare the entire sinister plot.
Though Agnes had pieced together clues and suspected as much, hearing Kearney confess unveiled the depth and darkness of his schemes.
Reggie was beside himself with rage, a side of him Agnes had never seen before.
The revelations were a cruel blow to him.
He had taken the three of them in years ago, loving them as his own.
But with Sean dead and Phenix in this state, all because of Kearney, how could he not be heartbroken?
