Defying Fate: The Unstoppable Eileen novel Chapter 385

The office was engulfed in a brief silence.

Eileen's expression was fixed, her eyes locked onto the vice principal.

She seemed to be processing what he had just said.

The vice principal sighed, rubbing his temples. "The Bloodbane Shadowsociety is a formidable force. Both of those young boys are connected to it, as well as to The Covenant Assembly. You're not strong enough yet to deal with such international mysteries, but I'm telling you now so that one day, when you're in the military, you'll be more aware if you encounter anything related."

Eileen pressed her lips together.

Her hands gripped the papers tightly, nearly crumpling them into a ball.

After a moment, she asked, "Did you report this?"

The vice principal nodded. "I did, three years ago, but there's been no follow-up."

Eileen looked at him sharply. "Does the Marshal know?"

The vice principal was taken aback. "Mr. Reed? How could he possibly know?"

He eyed Eileen suspiciously. "Yes, your father used to serve under Mr. Reed, and he was highly regarded by him, but that was ages ago. It's unlikely Mr. Reed even remembers your father now. When I reported it, I went through the proper channels, submitting it to the Department of Justice."

Eileen fell silent again, her head bowed.

The vice principal, seeing her distress, spoke gently, "Eileen, Mr. Magee isn't in a position to return to the frontline. I can't delve into these matters, but you can. If you're destined for the military, you can investigate your father's situation yourself."

Eileen understood what Mr. Magee was implying.

Mr. Magee and her father were comrades. He had noticed something suspicious about her father's death and fulfilled his duty as a friend by reporting it.

But he couldn't pursue it further. Higher-ups wouldn't allow it, and he couldn't abandon his responsibilities as vice principal over a decades-old case.

Eileen looked at the vice principal earnestly, then bowed slightly. "Thank you, Mr. Magee, for telling me this."

The vice principal sighed again. "I also have some information on the Bloodbane Shadowsociety. It's a mysterious organization, and this is all I could gather."

He handed her another file.

Eileen hesitated but took the documents and began to read.

The vice principal continued, "Oh, there's one more thing. Someone else important."

Eileen looked up at him.

He squinted, his expression grave. "Blood Phoenix."

Eileen's eyes widened. "What? Blood Phoenix?"

The vice principal nodded, his face serious. "This is the latest intel, shared with me privately by an old friend. I'm telling you, but you mustn't let this leak out, understand?"

Eileen was speechless, her mind a jumble of thoughts.

The vice principal spoke again, his tone heavy. "Blood Phoenix is a ruthless figure. Rumor has it she's a young woman, skilled in weaponry and explosives. She's close to the leader of the Bloodbane Shadowsociety, not officially a part of their assassin network, but more terrifying than any of their top assassins."

Eileen fiddled with her fingers, unsure. "Maybe she's not that scary..."

The vice principal slammed his hand on the desk. "You're underestimating her!"

Eileen swallowed, scratching her face nervously.

The vice principal warned, "You can't think like that. She’s an enemy. Always stay vigilant and aware. Look at these two boys in the photos. The one with the stern face is NightKing, the leader of the Bloodbane Shadowsociety. The other, I suspect, might be Blood Phoenix!"

Eileen was taken aback. "Isn't Blood Phoenix supposed to be a woman?"

The vice principal shook his head. "The rumors are ambiguous. She's described as both male and female. Very mysterious! Look at this boy with the smiling eyes. He could be a girl with short hair!"
