Defying Fate: The Unstoppable Eileen novel Chapter 393

In the surveillance room, a heavy silence hung in the air.

Then, out of nowhere, someone snorted with laughter.

Soon, the entire room was filled with the sound of stifled giggles.

Major Morris shook his head, and with a sigh, marked Eileen down another point in his notebook.

Commander Dirk noticed this and frowned. "Is that really necessary?" he asked, clearly annoyed.

Major Morris was even more displeased. "From now on, she's acting like a queen who doesn't care for her duties. And what kind of talk is that for a young lady?"

Commander Dirk shot back, "Come on, you know she didn't mean anything by it. You're just being uptight."

"Did you teach her to talk like that?" Major Morris pressed.

"Oh, please," Commander Dirk retorted, "Do I look like someone who'd be that improper?"

Major Morris just raised an eyebrow, and Commander Dirk finally relented. "Alright, fine. Knock off a point."

Meanwhile, in the field, the Red Team was celebrating like it was Thanksgiving, having just swiped some supplies from the Blue Team.

Eileen, ever the generous leader, decided to share the spoils. After all, it was their first victory after a successful takeover. She opened a box of instant mac and cheese, offering everyone a taste.

Joel took a bite of the cheesy pasta, sticking his tongue out at the spiciness. "Who knew the instructor would be kind enough to include this in the supplies?"

Eileen turned to her fellow team members. "Did you guys find any mac and cheese when you were gathering supplies?"

The fourth group leader replied, "We found a can of fruit cocktail."

Eileen nodded thoughtfully. "Seems like this stuff is pretty rare. No worries, if they find more, we’ll just go ‘borrow’ it again tomorrow!"

The Red Team was on a roll, and the Blue Team was having a run of bad luck.

The fifth group leader, looking a bit shy, suddenly grinned.

Eileen noticed and asked, "What's up?"

He ducked his head, saying, "Nothing, just thinking...with our morale so high, we might actually win this thing."

Eileen gave him a hearty slap on the back, making him wince. "Be confident! Lose the 'might'!"

He nodded, rubbing his back sheepishly. "Alright, alright."

Just then, from inside a nearby tent, Tom's voice rang out, "Help! Someone, please!"

Eileen rolled her eyes, clearly irritated. "Can someone deal with that?"

Everyone looked around at each other until Hancock stood up and silently headed into the tent.

A few moments later, he emerged, and Tom's voice was blissfully absent. Rolling up his sleeves, Hancock asked, "How about we open another mac and cheese?"

Eileen glanced at him, recognizing his newfound respect for her leadership. She chuckled, "Keep dreaming."

Hancock just shrugged.

The next morning at 5:30, Eileen led her newly reorganized teams out to search for more supplies. Their weapons were barely adequate, but they hadn't found a single piece of armor yet. Without it, any confrontation would mean casualties.
