During their night out, Yvan excused himself for a quick restroom break, and later, when Mark went to settle the bill, he was informed that it had already been taken care of.
Mark instinctively asked, "Who paid?" The receptionist mentioned it was the good-looking guy from their booth. Instantly, Mark thought of Yvan, knowing he was the only one who had stepped out, since Chase hadn't left the table at any point.
Mark just lowered his eyes, not saying much. However, when Chase was dragging Yvan away later, Yvan seemed quite displeased.
Frowning, Yvan's handsome face was clouded with annoyance. "I don't want that guy standing next to Matilda."
Chase was tempted to smack him on the back of his head. "If she's not with him, you think she'd be with you?"
Yvan even managed a laugh, his scoundrel charm peaking through. "Of course, she should be with me! Who dares to mess with my girl? I'll be the first to take him down!"
Chase watched Yvan silently for a moment. Meanwhile, Matilda had said her goodbyes and was about to head home. Yvan offered to drive her, but Chase stopped him, leaving Yvan to watch as Matilda got into Mark's car.
"What are you trying to do?" Yvan turned and asked.
Chase watched the car drive away before turning back to Yvan. "Do you really not remember how you treated Matilda back then?"
