Chapter 94 

Hearing Zayn and Yvan discuss the company’s stock changes stirred something in Josephine. It seemed her plan to sell off her 19% share was nearing success. 

Once she severed herties with Forbes Group, the rest of the marital assets wouldn’t matter. She could go ahead with the divorce from Zayn without worrying about him making financial moves behind herback 

She felt an immense sense of relief for keeping the stock acquisition deal a secret from Zaynı. 

Back then, her decision wasn’t due to distrust. She simply didn’t want Zayn to know her efforts had contributed to his success–she’d hoped he’d feel more accomplished and happier. But now, that well–meaning gesture felt like a wasted effort, thrown to someone utterly undeserving 

After spending some more time chatting with Joe, she and Zayn said their goodbyes and left. Still feeling uneasy, Josephine headed straight for Joe’s attending physician’s office to ask for more details. 

Sure enough, she found out that Joe’s condition was far more serious than he let on. His health had deteriorated over the last six months, prompting him to revise his will, it was clear he was bracing himself for the worst. 

“Death is an inevitable part of life,” she lamented, her heart heavy with sadness. Yet, she knew there was nothing she could do 

She went downstairs and stepped outside, taking out her phone to call George. Before she could find his number, a large shadow loomed over her. 

Without looking up, she knew it was Zayn. His cologne gave him away. It was the one she had bought for him. 

“Is there something I can do for you?” she asked, scrolling through her contacts, intending to call George as soon as Zayn left. 

Zayn abruptly reached out and gently touched her hair. “You won’t even look at me 

Josephine dodged his touch with a turn of her head, her voice cold. “If you need someone to look at you, I can call Nadine for you.” His expression hardened. “I told you, there’s nothing between me and Nadine!”

Zayn scoffed. “If you can manage that, I’ll hand over the entire Forbes Group to you.” 

“Exactly. You know I can’t do that, so you act however you want. You’ve cheated on me, yet you refuse to admit it, treating me like a fool while you and Nadine gang up on me.” 

“When have lever mistreated you?” he gritted out 

“Need I remind you that you kne these shoes weren’t lost, yet you conspired with Nadine to deceive me? You only handed them over when Winnie forced you both to. Both of you clearly thought I pushover, didn’t you?” 

Her gaze was unlike anything Zayn had ever seen before. It was cold, but not from rage. It was a growing indifference of someone ready to move on, tinged with unmistakable disgust. 

“Just so you know, I’m letting you and Nadine off the hook because I want this marriage to end quietly. I’m not interested in causing a spectacle for others to enjoy. she continued. “But don’t push me, or neither of you will get off easy.” 

With that, she tumed to leave, but he grabbed her wrist. “Do you n really want a divorce?
