Chapter 54
“I’ll go, but I’m not going with you.
Zayn sighed. “Josephine, are you really going to pick a fight with me at Mrs. Shaw’s birthday party? Are you going to act like we’re strangers, make Mrs. Shaw worry, and draw all the attention at the party to us?”
Josephine tell silent.
She and Zayn were the picture–perfect couple, and they were known throughout the business world as the ideal match.
If the people at the party found out there were issues between them, the focus would definitely shift from Winnie to their relationship.
After thinking it over, Josephine reluctantly compromised. “Well, then you don’t have to go. I’ll go by myself.”
Soon, Zayn’s laugh came through the phone. He resigned as he let out an affectionate laugh.
“What’s this? Are you a widow? Going to a party like that by yourself? What if no one’s there to shield you from the alcohol? You’ll end up drunk and miserable” Just as Josephine was about to respond, Zayn said, “Alright, stop throwing a tantrum. Come home tomorrow at noon, and I’ll go with you to the party.”
Without waiting for her reply, he ended the call. He probably knew she would refuse if the conversation continued.
Staring at the phone, Josephine bit her lip in besitation.
She didn’t want to overshadow Winnie at the party, but at the same time, she didn’t want to attend with Zayn either.
Wasn’t there any way to satisfy both sides?
Because of this issue, Josephine lost all interest in location scouting. She decided to head back to the mansion to pick out a gift for Winnie’s birthday and also start preparing her dress and jewelry.
When Mason saw her return, he was a bit surprised. “Hey, didn’t you say you’d be out scouting today and wouldn’t be back until late?” Frustrated, Josephine explained what had happened. At the same time, she took out her phone to call her regular designer, Thompson. “Do you have any high heels in the latest design? Preferably a one–of–a–kind pair. I want to give them to Mrs. Shaw as a birthday gift.” Winnie was a fan of Thompson, so receiving one of his unique creations at the birthday party would definitely make her happy.
Thompson chuckded. “You haven’t contacted me in ages. The things I made for you, you always sent someone else to pick them up. Now, when you finally contact me, it’s to ask for something for someone else. Looks like I’ve been abandoned!”
vn and given to someone else.”
“I’m about to get a divorce, andall the things you made for me have been taken by Zayn a “Wait, what?”
Thompson was so shocked that he started speaking in foreign language.
“You’re adding, right?”
Josephine couldn’t help but laugh. “How could I joke about something ke this? Did Zayn take away the custom–made red dress that I designed?”
Thompson nodded as he replied, “Yeah! A few days ago, he came by and asked if you had a custom dress. I said yes, and he said you couldn’t make it to pick it up, so Thanded it over to him”
Josephine let out a light sigh and said, “He gave the dress to another woman.”
If it had been any other ordinary custom dress, it might have been no big deal, but that particular one was something she had designed herself. The design had gone through multiple revisions over the span of more than half a month, so she couldn’t help but feel disappointed.
