Was Sebastian going to incriminate himself? Sebastian actually set his mind to take the blame for Matthew.
Matthew stood frozen for a moment, dumbfounded. He had gone to prison for Tessa's sake. When he got out, she divorced him and took his company.
Unbelievably, another fool said he'd take the fall for Matthew.
Feeling touched, Matthew stared at Sebastian for a long time before saying, "This is important. Never take the blame for a crime that isn't yours.
"People get their own share of riches and face their own consequences. Don't carry the weight of someone else's suffering. It might end up disappointing you."
Sebastian was bewildered. "You saved Dad and me. If it weren't for you, Dad might not have survived more than three months, and I could've ended up going insane.
"It has been on my mind, and I hope I can find a way to pay you back one day. You killed them today for my sake, and I'd gladly cover for you. If I don't step up today, I'll regret it later."
Matthew couldn't believe people were willing to take the fall for him. Even though it was all about returning a favor, Matthew still felt touched.
"I appreciate it. Let's practice medicine together and make traditional medicine great."
Sebastian chuckled, but there was a twinge of sadness to it. "I hope there's a chance to do that with you in the next life. You'd better hurry up and get out of here. The cops are on their way. If you wait any longer, it'll be too late."
Just then, two cars came speeding in from a distance. The cars quickly pulled up with three people getting out of them. One of them was injured, and the other two looked confident and striking. At first glance, it was obvious that they were highly trained.
Upon seeing them show up, Sebastian stammered in fear, "T-the police are here… Y-you need to hurry up and go… I'll buy some time."
As Sebastian spoke, he walked toward them with his hands raised. "I'm the one who killed them. I'm turning myself in, so just cuff me. I'm surrendering myself."
