Inside the coffee shop, Tessa gazed outside the window. Dylan had been gone for a while now, so he should be back soon.
Every time a car stopped, Tessa would check to see if it was Dylan. Suddenly, she spotted something that made her open her eyes wide.
Wasn't that Matthew? He had actually showed up again, and he even brought a woman with him!
It was obvious from first glance that she was such a slut. Why did she wear a tight shirt that highlighted her chest? Clearly, she was trying to seduce a man.
Tessa couldn't help but mutter, "You bitch! What a pair of scumbags. Both of you are despicable."
Matthew was about to leave with the woman, but Dylan still hadn't returned. Upon seeing this, Tessa quickly got up to her feet and ran out of the coffee shop to chase after Matthew.
Dylan wasn't back yet, but Tessa was confident with herself as a novice cultivator. She believed that it'd be a walk in the park to defeat someone like Matthew who barely knew how to fight.
Tessa sprinted to the door of Gembrooke Building and finally caught up with Matthew. Without hesitation, she stood in front of him and blocked his path.
Tessa? As Matthew was about to enter the building, he was startled when he saw Tessa. His smile turned into a grim expression.
"What do you want?"
Upon seeing Matthew in person, Tessa was visibly upset. She recalled every scene of her apologizing to him, begging for forgiveness, and dropping to her knees. Despite everything, he still didn't forgive her.
After kneeling so many times and putting up with all this humiliation, it was time for some payback. "We need to settle our score, Matthew."
Was there anything to hash out? Matthew was amused. "What score?"
Tessa sneered. "I messed up. You went to prison for me, so I shouldn't be ungrateful and bring up a divorce right after you finish your sentence. But putting that aside, let's be reasonable.
"As a woman, I said sorry and even got on my knees for forgiveness. Why couldn't you forgive me? Why did you keep putting me down?"
If the facts were off the table, then what was there to talk about?
Matthew was entertained. "After the divorce, I have never contacted you. You were the one who came to me and begged for my forgiveness on your knees. How is it my fault?"
Tessa's expression turned grim. "Yes, I was the one begging you, but why won't you forgive me? You're clearly just trying to humiliate me."
Forgiveness? Matthew scoffed. "I served three years in prison for you, and you filed a divorce. What should I be forgiving you for?
