Upon seeing how frightened Sandra was, Renae's face contorted even though she remained silent.
Just then, Matthew bent over to pick up the medical literature and dusted the covers. He was quite distressed seeing this treasure of his getting thrown on the floor.
He had initially planned on narrating how multiple people died because of the book to scare her, but who knew that she would snatch the book away first? Nevertheless, she fell victim to fear all the same.
Matthew decided to scare her even more and reached out to pass the Scholarly Tradition to her.
"I thought you wanted this book. Why'd you let it slip from your hands? Here. Hold it tight and don't drop it again."
Sandra was terrified. "I don't want it. I don't want the medical literature. You can have it! I don't want it anymore. This book has nothing to do with me!"
Then, Matthew kept the book in his inner pocket with much care. All of a sudden, he roared in anger, "I warned you, but you kept insisting on sealing your own fate! Get lost, you idiot!"
Matthew's eyes were filled with rage, and his expression twisted in anger. His voice was thundering with fury as he bellowed, and Sandra was so scared that she staggered backward.
She was truly afraid and didn't dare meet with Matthew's eyes.
Afterward, a group of burly men marched in. Each of them wore a sharp and piercing gaze, and they carried a chilling air of destruction.
With more than ten of them gathering together, they created an imposing and formidable presence.
Sandra panicked upon seeing the men walking in their direction. She then pointed at Matthew and yelled, "The medical literature is in his hands! It has nothing to do with me since he's holding onto it.
"Take it from him if you want! It has nothing to do with me."
The group of burly men marched in neat rows of line and halted in their tracks as soon as they arrived in front of Matthew. Then, all of them saluted and yelled in unison, "Salute!"
The sight of this particular scene made Sandra dumbfounded. Weren't they here to murder Matthew and steal the medical literature from him? Why were they saluting to him instead? Just who was Matthew?
Matthew scanned the group of men vigilantly. He could tell that they were all soldiers because they possessed the same demeanor Trevor had. However, he didn't know what their intentions were.
"Who are you?" Matthew asked.
