Since Wesley had asked about it, Sara decided to come clean. "I stripped everything off and lay down right next to him, but he didn't even touch me!"
What? Wesley was perplexed. "Maybe he can't do it somehow…"
Sara gnashed her teeth. Some things should be kept a secret from one's dad, but there was no going back now. "It's not that. Maybe he just doesn't like me."
She remembered what had happened.
There had been a tent in Matthew's pants. He had looked like he had been about to do it with her, but in the end, he had said that he wasn't interested in her crying like that.
She couldn't understand that. Weren't men supposed to be even more turned on if a woman cried in front of them? She had to look it up online after this.
Wesley considered it for a while and said, "Perhaps he's emotionally unstable after killing someone. Just… try to get closer to him again. I refuse to believe that any man in this world can say no to a woman's advances.
"I'm telling you, as long as you've sealed the deal between you and him, we will be able to pass on our business. Once you have a child and give him our family name, he can be one of the company's heirs.
"I'm begging you, Sara. You don't want to watch this family business crumble to ruins either, do you?"
Sara was about to refuse, but she stopped herself. Wesley was already begging her to do it. How could she refuse him?
"Alright. I'll come up with a way."
After hanging up, Sara laid back on the seat and closed her eyes.
She knew why Wesley was so anxious. The Clarks' business was growing bigger and bigger. They were already reaching the peak of their career.
Families in business were cursed. Once they reached the peak of brilliance, they would crash and fall, possibly ending up in ruins.
The Clarks had discovered that this happened because there was no martial artist to protect the business after it achieved success.
