Silas scrutinized Matthew as if trying to uncover something extraordinary about him.
Matthew felt uneasy under his intense gaze and said, "Can you stop staring at me like that?"
Silas chuckled and remarked, "That president is stunning. She is the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. How did you end up with her?"
Matthew glanced at Silas.
Even though the latter was in high demand, with several people eager to get a piece of him, he remained calm. Instead of focusing on his predicament, he was more interested in digging up gossip.
Matthew responded curtly, "I just went for it." His tone was laced with frustration.
While Matthew was preoccupied with more urgent matters, Silas was busy poking gossiping.
The simplicity of Matthew's response rocked Silas' world. He had always thought beautiful women were haughty and dismissive of ordinary people, yet Matthew's casual response made it all seem too easy.
"You just went for it? Won't the other party resist?" Silas asked.
Matthew answered calmly, "No."
Silas muttered to himself, clearly confused. "They won't? Could all those books I've read about winning a woman's heart be right? The shortest path to a woman's heart is… that way?"
At that moment, the elevator doors opened. Matthew stepped out briskly, while Silas seemed lost in thought, still mumbling. Fortunately, he followed Matthew as they made their way to Lambda Villa.
Sara stormed into the room frantically. "Where's Hayden? I need to find him right now!"
She had contacted her family. Her father had already sent her brother, Andrew Clark, on a flight, but she felt it wasn't fast enough.
She was determined to get Silas out of there quickly to avoid further issues. But more than anything, she was consumed by the urge to kill Matthew. She wanted him dead.
As the only daughter of the Clark family, she was accustomed to being showered with attention and flattery. But when a mere chauffeur had shown the audacity to spank her a few days ago, she had swallowed her anger for her reputation.
Yet, Matthew slapped her in front of Rachel today. The humiliation was too much to bear. She wouldn't be at ease until she had killed him.
