So, those people were snatching the herbs? This worried Rachel even more. "Did they say who they were?"
The purchaser said, "I asked them, and they snapped my leg! The nerve of them!"
She looked the purchasers over and asked Matthew, "Can you treat them?"
He shook his head. Injuries like those needed time to recover. He couldn't do much about them.
Tracy asked, "Aren't you a doctor? Can't you treat something like that?"
He said coolly, "I can't be bothered to do anything for something like this. Just take them to a regular hospital and have a regular doctor treat them. If the injuries can't be treated there, then they can come to me."
She curled her lip without saying anything else. Rachel had someone take the three purchasers to the hospital. Then, she looked at Sean Jackson, the purchasing manager. "Why don't you go check on things in Greenmont Town?"
He looked pained. "I might know a thing or two about purchasing herbs, but I don't think I'd be any good in a fight."
Because of this, Rachel couldn't help thinking about how important it was to set up a team of bodyguards. She was still trying to think of a way to resolve the matter when Tracy stepped forward.
"I'll go."
Rachel thought about it, then said, "Let Matthew drive you there."
Tracy gave him a disdainful look. "Do you have the nerve to go with me? Forget it if you're scared."
Knowing that she was friends with Layla, Matthew could imagine that she'd probably learned some martial arts. He just didn't know how good she was. Her tone pissed him off a little though.
He shrugged and said nonchalantly, "I'm just a driver. I'm not gonna get into any fights."
With that, he turned to head to the basement parking lot. Tracy snorted. "What a coward. I can't believe Sheldon actually suspects he killed Jeffrey. How's that even possible?"
Rachel said, "Don't talk about him like that. Be safe, okay? Matthew's a man, so he can help you when it might not be convenient for you to handle the situation."
She'd seen what Tracy was capable of. When they were still studying, she'd been harassed by a few male classmates. However, Tracy had dealt with them in the blink of an eye, leaving them bruised and battered.
Still, that didn't mean she wasn't worried. The Carter family kept running into problems, and it gave her an ominous feeling. It was almost as if there was something huge lurking in the darkness and eyeing them.
