The video call ended, and Noah chuckled, "Boss, the investigation on Bruce's end wrapped up clean—no issues at all. Plus, those pesky overseas virtual IPs have been tracked down. The authorities are digging into it, and we're still running our own checks."
Andre glanced at the tanking stock price of the Cedillo Group. "How many billions have we lost over the past few days?"
"Five billion."
Andre let out a wry chuckle, tapping his fingers on the desk. "And what about our international branches?"
"Our five overseas branches haven’t taken much of a hit. The Rossi Group, under former Secretary-General Alice, actually made a tidy profit amidst the chaos, but it's nothing compared to what we’ve lost at HQ. Calder Corporation, Yellowstone Quarry, Western Development... none of them were affected." Noah filled Andre in on the branches he was overseeing.
Andre watched the stock line continue its downward slide, a clear reminder that losses were still mounting.
"Uh... Boss, there’s something else," Noah hesitated, "The missus didn’t want me to spill, but I figure you'll find out sooner or later."
"What’s up?" Andre was in the dark about what his little Kittemia was plotting behind his back.
Noah pulled out his phone, showing the recent chat with Mrs. Cedillo: Noah, you there? Give me the lowdown on my husband, Mrs. Cedillo is checking in.
Andre couldn’t help but smile, "Mia Cat, doing her little check-in." Oddly enough, he wasn’t mad about his wife snooping; it actually amused him.
Noah had replied: Madam, the boss is in meetings. Lately, he hasn’t smoked, drank, or been around other women. He’s just been working late.
Mia asked: I heard my husband lost billions. Is the company in trouble? If it is, give me a shout. I’ve got plenty stashed away.
Noah: The company’s running smoothly, madam, no need to worry.
Mia replied: Oh, please. I might’ve slacked off in college, but I can still read the numbers. I know what's up.
